Spaghetti with Marinara Although it’s clear what’s more economical here, I could easily defend paying $1000 to travel to Italy once more, but I can’t defend spending $9 on a bottle of Rao’s Homemade Marinara sauce.

I realize my reasoning is a little flawed, but let’s face it—there are no easy ways to travel to Europe without taking a plane. That being said, there are plenty of excellent substitutes for Rao’s delectable pasta sauces. Do you agree?Spaghetti with Marinara

How did I hear about Spaghetti with Marinara?

I was fascinated when my friend Marian extolled the virtues of Rao’s Homemade Pasta Sauce over a year ago, but I questioned if it was truly as delicious as she said and, more significantly, if it was worth nine dollars.

I’ve been noticing the absurd price of Rao’s Pasta Sauce every time I go to the grocery store and pass the pasta area ever since. To my dismay, though, it was never on sale. And every time, I would rely on my two other preferred pasta sauces, Classico and Barilla, which were also excellent.

However, I recently discovered that Rao’s Homemade Sauce was $5.50 per jar and ON SALE. You can hardly imagine how excited I am!Spaghetti with Marinara

Ingredients

  • Marinara:Without a doubt, you must use Homemade Marinara. If you enjoy heat, their Arriaiata sauce is also fantastic.
  • Olive Oil:You can use any high-quality olive oil.
  • CrushedRedPepperI suggest using a lot of crushed red pepper for this one because I enjoy spicy meals.
  • Onion: You will need chopped white onions.
  • Garlic: Nothing tastes better than freshly chopped garlic with spaghetti.
  • Spaghetti: For extra fiber, I love to use whole-wheat spaghetti. For a gluten-free alternative, feel free to use standard white flour spaghetti or even gluten-free spaghetti.
  • Spices: Black pepper and salt
  • Parmesan Cheese:
This meal tastes great with freshly grated parmesan cheese, but the sauce is so good that you may skip the cheese entirely.
  • FreshBasil:This recipe is incredibly flavorful thanks to the abundance of fresh basil.Spaghetti with Marinara
